My Triathlon

The time has finally come it was the day… the Triathlon day, it was 7:00am, I shot out of bed fast as a bullet with excitement. After I was already to go to school I went to the garage got my bike put it in the truck then Mum, Lara and I were off to school.

I Parked my bike in the year 6 boys transition, I then went and put my bag on a hook but then the bell rung we called the roll and then went to the hall and discussed what the plan for the triathlon was going to be. After the discussion two people came and told us what the spot prizes will be. After all of the discussing Mrs Casey played a movie the movie was “The Secret Life Of Pets.”

Through the time all of the other year groups had their races but before I knew it it was my race. Before my race I was so nervous but I knew I eventually would have to race so I just started to stretch and warm up. It’s time I’m at the start line...Take your mark… Set… GO. We were off. First the Run, Then the Bike, Then the swim and I was done I finished in 3rd place I was really proud of myself. During the run, bike and swim I just kept telling myself “Don’t Give up, Never Give up” and that got me into 3rd place. In Front of me were Cooper Furnell in 1st place and Luke Atienza in 2nd place.

The prize I got for coming 3rd was… a packet of pencils and a sharpener.

Culture festival

Yay, it was finally the day I got to share my inquiry with the Senior Syndicate but before we shared we watched the IPU drummers perform and then watched First Five perform their classes dance. When we got back to our class we were able to set-up where our stall’s would be. Once everyone had finished we were allowed to go to lunch but not any ordinary lunch... we were having a cultural shared lunch because it was the cultural festival day. We were celebrating with a shared lunch.

I was with my group planning who would be running the stall first. We finally decided Stevie and I would be in the stall first for 20 minutes. So then Stevie decided who would be running what. Stevie was going to look after the code cracker and I would look after the Word search and Spot the difference…

Twenty minutes later Stevie and I were allowed to go and look at the other stall’s. The first stall I went to was the “Make your name tag out of ancient letters,” which was cool. Then I went to the Massai Warrior stall and cracked a quiz which won me a cool Massai warrior bookmark. I then went to the “Learn the Haka stall” and I learnt the Haka (but I have already forgotten how to do the Haka) But it was still really cool doing the Haka in front of everybody.

I then heard Mr Valentine announce “20 Minutes until pack up time” so I quickly went to the henna stall so I could get a pattern drawn on my wrist using henna but the line is really long. (17 minutes later) another announcement but this time it was Mrs Langley saying “3 Minutes until pack up time.” I’m still three people behind so I wonder if will I be able to get a henna design but then I hear the last announcement “Pack up time” and that was my amazing day.

My first day

I can't believe it the time has finally arrived... I’m a year six! But now I have to take care of myself, and I’m also expected to lead the school with the other year sixes.

My first day, I was pretty nervous walking into the biggest class I've ever been in. The biggest shock was that I had four teachers and one teacher aid. But I think I will still have a blast. The first thing we did was the roll which took longer than usual because there was 90 children.

After the roll the teachers introduced themselves on a short video, next on my incredible first day the whole school went to the hall for powhiri. A powhiri is when the whole school gathers up and welcomes all of the new students and teachers.

YAY MORNING TEA

At morning tea I played with Oliver McShane, Tama Williams, Jacey Tanoa, Dre-Shaun and Cameron Williams. We played tag.

After morning tea the whole class did a scavenger hunt, but no ordinary scavenger hunt it was a scavenger hunt where we had to hunt for interesting facts about other people in the class. When we finished the scavenger hunt we came back inside and pinned our scavenger hunt facts onto the wall.

RING RING RIIIIIING YAY LUNCHTIME

In the last block we did Grand Designs school edition. Grand designs is designing house’s in a unique way, but instead of designing a house we were designing a classroom. Before we could start we had to get into groups I choose to be in the name and logo group. But before we can start the bell rings. That is the end of my amazing first day of school but now there's only one thing left to do GO HOME.
